My friend ezzie died a few days ago. Ezzie was my friend for many years. I met her when she just turned 18 at a open mic. She was going to play a song but we ditched. She was very talented and beautiful. I miss her so. I will always miss her. She changed my life and my music. There are no words… Goodbye my friend. I love you alway. I’m gonna get back to work soon. I thought that my fans should know.
Last night at the Astoria was a blast. I played with Sea Bell. Sea Bell is a folky/indie rock band from eugene oregon. They are worth checking out. Thanks to everyone that came out. It was one of the first shows that we used our whole lighting system. It rocked. I played my new cover from the Postal Service “This place is a prison”. I will be playing it at The thirsty Lion in portland so come check that out on Thuesday!
Hey all! I’m setting here on the In to net thinking I should put a note to my fans and followers. I have a great show coming up on Thursday @ the wondering goat. It’s with Three Way Stereo. They are one my fav bands in Eugene. I have some sprises for this show but you’ll only find out if you come. hint hint…
I was just thinking back to some of the people that got me here. My best friend Dave comes to mind. He showed me what music was and how to make it. He took this lost 15 year old kid and gave him a voice. Music has always been my passion from that day on. I could never do anything or make anything or even say anything that wasn’t guided by that. It’s funny how things move on in life. People are like wind, ephemeral. You can feel them, they can change your course, but they only last a moment. When that moment ends; it never returns exactly the same way. When I was 16 I would travel to Dave’s house to play in this little store room that reeked of old chew and stale beer. Tapes lined the walls; wires ran everywhere in the drafty old wood shack. It was painted a baby blue but had a tinge dirt and mold to the paint. I would spend every waking hour in that shack making little musical works. We would play until we were excused, until every ounce of passion was driven from our fingers and voices. It was like, and if you know anything about the beatles it might help, my Hamburg. Where I was tested as a musician. Where I learned and found ideas. But… People move on. Dave was older than I and had a family. Things I never wanted. Music is my love. It’s good for him. I have to follow this passion wherever it takes me but if I could get off of this road… Sometimes passion is a hard thing. Sometimes it’s the only thing. Things to know about RMM… Much luv all!!!!
