I went up to portland to have “Rebel without a Clause” reviewed. If you don’t don’t it’s RMM’s new cd. Lookie… lookie selfless plugs! So… My sis’s and me went in to Taco bell in Portland off of 205. I guess it would be closer to troutville. We were setting there talking about a close friend of mine who was having some house problems. This guy starts glaring at me. He started saying. “I hate fxxxing white faggits!”. I didn’t think anything of it. He couldn’t be talking to us right? I went on talking to my sis’s. He says it again louder and louder. We were like, “Are you talking to us?” “Yes, you think your money is any better than mine? You think your better than me?” he said. At this point we didn’t know what to say. We weren’t even talking to him. His friend backed him up too. “I was in Vietnam and you come in here disrespecting me? I hate fxxxing white faggits!” He was white! I mean I could at least understand if he wasn’t. How do you argue with crazy? Maybe he just needed a hug! Maybe he just need a mirror… I don’t know. See! The crazy stuff that happens when your traveling. Come to my shows! I put my life on the line for you!!! Much luv all! Watch out when you go to taco bell I guess. 
This is a blog for the guy who gave me a hug at the willamette valley music fest. I admit I was a little taken back but it’s not everyday you get hugged by cool people. So I was walking to my car after Menomena played. They are a band from portland oregon and not to bad. I ask this guy a question and he gives me a hug. How sweet is that! I mean really. We should all just go hug some random person then be like. “Okay……. so…..uhhh….. have a good one.” You know in that really awkward way that makes you want to laugh. What else is there to say. Hug a random person tomorrow and if they don’t hit you count it good karma and buy a lotto ticket. Just think if you lose you got a hug if you win you get double joy. Just remember that money will never buy you a true hug cuz they be free.

In two weeks it will be pressing! Keep an eye on our site for more information. I will post it as it comes. I have a show coming up at the Ashland off of west 11th on the 19th. Come out and give some support. We will be playing with Bajuana Tea. I haven’t heard them play yet but they have some good stuff on their myspace. Okay… I know I’m gonna get some flak for this one. Let me start off saying Grand Duchy was a good band a really good band. It’s unfair to compare them to the pixies. That’s like comparing paul to the beatles. It’s really unfair. It will happen and always will. When you have Frank black in your group it’s gonna happen. Grand Duchy was a bit of a let down for me. I wanted to see Frank Black sing even just a little. Everybody came for him. It’s sad but true. He didn’t hardly sing. He was just a guitar player in the band. I think he might have had two songs… maybe. The stage was his wifes. She was good but not the pixes. I guess thats what happens when you start a band with someone who is a legend. It’s like the time I saw The Raconteurs with Jack White. They were a good band. They had a decent sound but I wanted the white stripes. In retrospect Grand Duchy is a good band, not great, but good. You wont get your pixes fix. You most likely wont get your Frank Black fix. It’s her band and that’s okay you just can’t go to them and expect to see the pixies. That’s not happening. Take the pixes out of the picture I would give Grand Duchy three and a half stars out of 5.
